Ninth Sawai Gandharva Memorial – 1961
Venue: Yamuna Nivas, the Deshpande residence opposite Sambhaji Park, Pune
Because the Panshet dam burst flooded Pune on 12 July 1961, no public memorial was held that November.
Instead, Dr. Nanasaheb Deshpande hosted a private gathering at his father's home with only 10–12 listeners.
